We are extremely proud to share the inspiring success story of star student Sophie McWilliams.
Embracing Project-Based Learning
Embracing The Studio School’s project-based learning model, Sophie has spent the last year immersing herself in the bustling world of Digital and Technology at RAC as their first-ever high school student intern.
Working alongside her mentor, Kate Sossi (Digital Product Owner at RAC), Sophie has dedicated her time to developing her mental health app, Wave – an innovative app aimed at revolutionising mental health support in the Pilbara region of rural Western Australia. Her initiative and passion towards this project have not only impressed the team at RAC but also sparked inspiration among her peers at TSS, paving the way for future students looking to venture into the field of Digital and Technology.
Sophie is an incredibly inspiring young woman with a very bright future ahead. Her time at RAC has been transformative, giving her a clearer vision of where her interests lie within the vast world of Digital and Technology. Immersed in the development of Wave, she's not just developing an app; she's fostering a passion, gaining real-world working experience, and making a positive difference in our world.
