At The Studio School, we love seeing students discover their passions and take meaningful steps towards their future careers. For Class of 2024 graduate Summer, this journey has led to an exciting new role as an Education Assistant at All Saints’ College.
Summer’s interest in working in education first began through work experience at a local school, where she had the chance to explore whether supporting students in the classroom was something she wanted to pursue.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my work experience—it gave me insight into the challenges and rewards of working in an education setting, as well as the skills needed to effectively engage with and support students."
With support from TSS, Summer completed a Certificate III in Education Support through TAFE, gaining real-world skills while still at school. She also explored other pathways, completing a Certificate in Health and Fitness, which helped broaden her career options.
"TSS played a pivotal role in preparing me for my career path. The teachers and coaches were incredibly supportive, guiding me through my studies and keeping me motivated. They encouraged me to follow my passions and supported all my interests."
Now stepping into her new role at All Saints’ College, Summer is most excited about working with students and being part of a positive and encouraging team.
"I’m looking forward to helping the kids learn and grow in a supportive environment and building strong relationships with the welcoming teachers at ASC. Being part of a team that values both personal and academic development is something I truly look forward to."
For current TSS students considering a similar path, Summer encourages them to take advantage of work experience opportunities and seek support from the school:
"It is extremely worthwhile to utilise the support the school offers and connections they have in the community. Many hours of work experience definitely helped me learn and gain invaluable experience. Persist with the certificates and always ask for help if you need it."
We are incredibly proud of Summer and can’t wait to see how her career in education unfolds!
