We are delighted to share that Year 12 student Jack has been selected to represent Australia at the U19 Men’s Floorball World Championships, taking place in Switzerland from 29 April – 4 May. This achievement is a testament to Jack's passion, resilience, and years of dedication to his sport, while currently balancing the demands of Year 12 studies at The Studio School.
This will be Jack’s first time representing Australia on the international stage. In the lead up to the tournament, he will join his teammates for a high-performance training camp at OYM in Cham, Switzerland, with world class facilities. There, they will test their skills against top Swiss teams before facing Estonia, Slovenia, and Spain in the group stage.
Balancing elite sport with Year 12 studies is no easy feat, but Jack’s commitment is clear. His weekly schedule involves seven training sessions, combining on-court practice, fitness work, and strength and conditioning training, often in early mornings and late evenings. He credits the flexibility and support at TSS with helping him manage his academic and sporting commitments, allowing him to tailor his school week to fit his training demands.
“I train early in the mornings and late at night, so having the freedom to arrive at school later and catch up on work around training has made it a lot easier to manage.”

Jack’s ultimate goal in floorball is simple yet powerful: to keep improving. He believes there is always room to get better and that the key to progress is training hard and competing against players who challenge him.
“The more you train and the more you play against people who are better than you, the more you improve.”

As part of his project time at TSS, Jack has also explored his passion for sports design. He has designed floorball kits inspired by Scandinavian clubs, combining his creativity and creative design skills with his deep knowledge of the game.
Jack’s success is a wonderful example of the way students at TSS can pursue their passions while shaping their education around their goals.
We wish Jack all the best for the World Championships and look forward to following his journey as he represents Australia on the international stage.
