TSS student Sofia (Year 10) recently took the exciting opportunity to travel to Malta and play for a Champions League team.
Sofia shared that the professionalism of the staff and camp stood out as the highlight of her time there and is excited about how the experience has the potential to open up even more doors for her in the world of professional soccer.
"I'm hoping to head back out for the Championships at the end of the year," Sofia said.
Sofia is a dedicated soccer player at The Studio School, where she is currently balancing her academic studies with a promising sports career.
“The Studio School has been incredibly supportive of my sport, including helping me pursue work experience with Perth Glory on Fridays, which not only enhances my experience but also counts towards my graduation,” she shares.
Sofia chose The Studio School for its flexibility and supportive environment, which allows her to pursue her passion for soccer without the constraints of a traditional school schedule. The smaller, more personalised setting makes it easier for her to balance training sessions, gym workouts, and her studies.
“As soon as I came to The Studio School, I found my feet pretty fast. The style and the way it's run is different, and it’s been a good change in a supportive environment,” Sofia reflects.
Looking ahead, Sofia’s goals include breaking into the Women’s National Training Centre (NTC)program and eventually joining the Junior Matildas. Her recent experience in Malta has opened even more doors for her, solidifying her determination to pursue a professional soccer career.
“The Studio School has given me the flexibility and support I need to pursue my passion for soccer while balancing my studies,” Sofia said.
